Murder (Or An Art Attack), Part 4

SCENE:
Tom is standing in the middle of bad art, woozy, a little off-balance as Izzy, strangely enough, tries to reassure him. Tom can barely stand upon his feet, so Izzy may even take him by the arm to help him out.

TOM: The pretentiousness… It’s suffocating me….

IZZY (worried): Let’s go down to the coffee shop. They’re having a poetry and jazz night there…

ANOTHER ARTIST GUY (stepping in their path, said ugly art visible somewhere): Excuse me, but I couldn’t help overhearing what you said.

IZZY: So?

ARTIST GUY: You called my work “a steaming pile of cat vomit.”

IZZY: In retrospect, that’s an insult to cats.

ARTIST GUY (fussily): I think maybe if you understood what I was trying to accomplish with my work, you might be more amenable. See, my art is tactile, not visual…

IZZY: Is it gustatory?

ARTIST GUY: Well… No. Why?

IZZY: Because if you don’t get out of my way in five seconds, you’re going to find out what it tastes like.
