SCENE:
Tom and Karla in the computer room talking.

TOM (panicked, Calvin-style): Karla, I can’t roleplay the Duke having sex with Fluttershine! You know Branch - she’ll want details! Moist, squishy details!

KARLA (excited – her meddling gene is at work again): Tom, you have to! It’s a breakthrough for her!

KARLA (calming down as she tries to genuinely show Tom that this is worthwhile): She’s turned away a thousand guys. This is the first time she’s shown any interest in connecting with anyone, ever. It’s a form of intimacy!

TOM: That’s what bothers me. It feels like I’m having sex with Branch, not one fictional character making love to another.

KARLA (urgently): But maybe she needs that!

TOM: Hang on a second. You’re commanding me to have explicit cybersex with a librarian hottie, and I’m saying I don’t want to do it.

KARLA: Yes.

TOM (grinning with acknowledgement of the absurdity of it all): This is one messed-up relationship, you know that?

KARLA (agreeing, equally thrilled): I know!

In response to Monday’s strip, several folks asked us whether Tom would know about either The Book of Erotic Fantasy or The AD&D Book of Sex. The answer? No. Tom’s not the sort of person who’d go hunting for that stuff.

In other news, the flow of the art in today’s strip is extremely, extremely nice. It’s one of the major joys of the strip to see Roni’s art evolving nicely, and she did a very good job in creating a nice panel-to-panel motion. Go her.
