Below are all the answers to the Diabolical Riddle Day C&A strips.

The missing elements are X, Y, and Z. Each word in the sentance she says starts with the following letter of the alphabet. Right up through "W".

1) The kidnapper returned the mans daughter unharmed. In other words, he returned the rest of her along with her ear.

2) It was pre-colonial Manhattan Island. The "doctor" is a witch doctor, a member of the Manhattan Indian tribe.

3) The center of the Earth. (The question did say "where IN the world...")

1) If you sleep outdoors, indoors, or anywhere, you're asleep. Any kind of sleep cures insomnia.

2) The man was playing golf.

3) The girl was German.

1) The man was playing Monopoly.

2) Unrelated to his organized crime problem, the mob boss had a flea problem in his house and hired an exterminator. "Pulga" in Italian means "flea".

3) She was playing baseball.

http://www.galactanet.com/comic/view.php?strip=299
1) She is the President. (Not the First Lady)

2) She is a commercial airline pilot. (Not a stewardess)

3) You sexist pig.

All the shows/movies star a regular cast member from "The A-Team".
Battlestar Galactica: Dirk Benedict (Starbuck -- Face)
Breakfast at Tiffany's: George Peppard (Fred -- Hannibal)
Star Trek TNG: Dwight Schultz (Barclay -- Murdock)
Rocky III: Mr. T (Clubber Lang -- B.A.)

The answer is the L33T-o-mat. It was based on the numbers of the strips referred to in the various panels.

Panel 1: #314
Panel 2: #159
Panel 3: #265
Panel 4: #35
Panel 5: #89

Those numbers are pi. The next 2 would be 79. In Strip 79, we see the L33T-o-mat.

Side note: It really is the most popular invention even featured on C&A. There are many, many hotlinks directly to that image out there in internet-land.

She was playing Monopoly. If you're wondering about the Atlantic City reference, it's cause Monopoly is based on Atlantic City. Every location on the Monopoly board can be found there.

The six items (Monopoly playing pieces) she has are: The Racecar, the Terrier, the Thimble (her right hand), the Top Hat, the Shoe (on her right foot), and the Iron (in the trunk).

Note: I think this must be the easiest DRD ever cause the answers came pouring in. It was posted for less than 5 minutes before it was answered.

What's all this then? Well, it's "Penny Lane" by the Beatles. The activities and people seen (including Satan as the "pretty nurse") are all described in the song.

Note: The lyrics of the song specifically say it's all beneath "Blue, suburban skies" at one point, and at other points it can be inferred that it's pouring rain the whole time. So I compromised and made it really overcast.

And yes, the kids should be laughing *behind* the Banker's back. But by the time I drew the little brats, I had already put the banker and the motorcar in the scene. And there was no room to put the kids behind him.

Taking the first letter of eash word in Satan's speech makes "wwwgalactanetcomcomiculbistpng" which, with punctuation, is www.galactanet.com/comic/ulbist.png

(Note -- this riddle was a fan-strip. I didn't write it.)

All of the movies/TV Show Episode have had bands named after characters in them.

(Note -- this riddle was a fan-strip. I didn't write it.)

The webcomic author's styles referenced are:

- Panel 2: Penny Arcade
- Panel 3: VG Cats
- Panel 4: Megatokyo
- Panel 5: Sexy Losers

If you're wondering about the Megatokyo panel, it's "Sad girl in the snow" which is a Megatokyo inside joke.

The three people are: Hannibal Barca (Carthegenian General), Hannibal Smith (Leader of the A-Team) and Hannibal Lechter (Psychotic murderer from Silence of the Lambs).

They all have a "Nominal" similarity. Though in this case "Nominal" meant "Pertaining to names" rather than it's more common definition of "negligeable quantity."

The Chair-o-mat is the odd man out. Because it's the only one that doesn't actually exist. All of the other things do, believe it or not!

Art-o-mat: http://www.artomat.org/home.html
Dog-o-mat: http://www.dog-o-mat.com/
Vent-o-mat: http://www.ventomat.com/default.asp
Safe-o-mat: http://www.safeomat.com/

These are all well known optival illusions, but I made them such that the thing that looks bigger actually *is* bigger. Just to keep folks on their toes.

In panel 1, the Satan on the right is the tallest.
In panel 2, the bottom line is longer
In panel 3, the blue circle on the right is larger
In panel 4, the box's edges *do* bow inward
In panel 5, the lines are *not* parallel
