This comic was inked in ballpoint pen, which is something I do once in a while. It gives me great pleasure to draw in ballpoint, but it tends to look a lot like pencil once my scanner’s had it’s way with it. I guess you’ll just have to trust me that this comic turned out really well on paper.

Today’s strip is a guest strip by Jon Bearup, formerly of the comic Blahsville. As I understand it, Jon is considering getting back into comics and is looking for the right writer for the job (as opposed to the hordes of writers looking for artists). His forum might be a good place to express an interest if you have an interest to express in that.

And Jon, thanks a lot for the guest comic.

EDIT: Another thing I’d like to mention is, despite the fact that only about 10-15% of the world’s internet users run Firefox, according to my tracker, over 44% of the visitors to this site are currently using it.

I’m very proud of you all. Good job, guys and gals. Way to recognize a good bandwagon when you see one.

More than anything, I think I made this comic for me. I’m not sure how many of you read James Kochalka’s comics, but if you don’t, I recommend giving them a shot. His books are on sale at the moment too, so there’s another way to go. It goes without saying, I think, that among other things, I’m picking up a copy of the collected American Elf. Seeing as how I’ve been drawing a journal comic for several months, it seems like a logical purchase, since James Kochalka is what some might call an “Original Gangster” in this field. I mean, if you’re a Pop Artist, you own a little Warhol, right? That’s my thinking, anyway. It just seemed weird not to have his book.

In other news, Malfunction Junction’s first-ever guest strip will be appearing on the comic’s next update. It’s written and drawn by Jon Bearup of the comic Blahsville which, I believe, is no longer online. If the man himself would care to correct me with a link in the comments, that would be spectacular.

Anyway, thanks for coming. Have a good night.

A thing to mention

I need to let you know that my sleep and work schedule has been extremely erratic lately and, as you may have noticed, I haven’t been having an easy time keeping the comics on a consistent schedule, particulary time-of-day wise. I’m not saying there’s much I can do about it, but I want to let you know that you should expect it. I’ll try my best to keep the comics coming on time, but I’m not going to be a hundred percent successful with that until I figure out how to better manage my time, what with all that’s going on.

Working third shift has its downsides, for sure.
