I’m stressed the fuck out from moving and I’m sick with some sort of bubonic cold, so I’m going to need the day off from comics today. Sorry, but it’s hard to draw and be funny when all you want to do is throw yourself off an overpass. I may post something dumb here later tonight if I have the time and presence of mind. Sorry about all this.

I made this comic a few days ago, but my internet went out in my old place and my computer wasn’t at my new place yet. Anyway, it being 6:45 am, you’d think that perhaps I’ve been spending the last six hours doing something other than moving heavy furniture around, but you’d be wrong. I am so tired that I’m not sure if what I’m writing right now even makes sense. Anyway, at least it’s not as bad as the last time I moved, when the comic pretty much shut down for a week and a half. So there’s that, at least.

The only thing untrue about this comic is that it was Natural Ice and it was in a can (we’re poor, you beer snobs).

Anyway, moving proceeds. I may shoot and post photos of the bedroom I’m moving into at some point, because it is RAD. Seriously, this is not even a bedroom so much as it is a chamber. I’m talking about stained-glass windows (which I’m told were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright). I’m talking about GIANT windows. I’m talking about those big wooden double-doors that slide out from the walls to close. In any other city, that kind of place would run you about a million dollars a week, but in Columbus, a city teeming with really old kickass houses, I will be paying $220 a month for such a thing. Say what you will, but you cannot beat the Midwestern cost of living. Nothing against bigger cities (note that there are only 14 more populous cities in the US), but where I live it’s infinitely cheaper than most of them. Besides that, this is a pretty goddamn nice place to live. You will not hear ANYONE else say this (I have heard it from maybe two people ever), but I love this city. I really do.

GasMart finally has a new employee and no, it’s not that braindead bastard I mentioned previously. Also, I swear to god that on my first day of training my boss told me, “Look, no other manager will ever say this to you, but seriously– fuck customers.” He is the greatest manager ever.

Another Thing: I will be moving over the course of the next week and a half (yes, AGAIN), so I hope you’ll bear with some late and/or single-panel comics for that period of time. Believe me, I like this far less than you do. How do I know this? Because you don’t have to move all your stuff into another house after you just did it a few months ago. That’s how I know. Anyway, things will be back to normal before long and, frankly, I have a feeling my new living situation will inspire many new comics. It had fucking better.

Today’s comic is elsewhere.

I did a guest strip for Hate Song a month or so ago, and it’s finally up on his site. I will take this opportunity to let that be your comic for today.
