We have been invited by Penguicon to be Featured Guests at this year's convention. Isn't that fancy? April 29-May 1 in Southfield, Michigan. Details in the forum.
I’m thinking that The Light=Illumina, and The Dark=Mack’s Brother, Declan,=the vigilante. ‘Cause, someone who supposedly died in a plane crash but mysteriously survived and is fighting crime while playing by his own rules is totally a comic book thing. Plus we know the vigilante casts shadows (which is the opposite of Mack’s glowy-ness) and has long blond hair.
No, I really like the effort you put into this theory, I’m just not real happy about where it might be going if you are actually right.
Wouldn’t his family know their own? They are all supers, surely decent detectives and crimefighters…although they MIGHT have decided to look the other way if he has, in fact gone dark vigilante, rather than have to publicly shame the entire family.
What a letdown for Mack if you’re right; her parents never even telling her Declan was alive; all three, parents and brother, would be primo bas!@#%$ for hiding this from her.
It might explain the family fixation on their lost son though, in a horrible, tragic and very twisted way.
As always, love the story and love the art. Just wanted to give some constructive criticism, though… Be careful with your word balloon placement. Word balloons should be just like the art in that it dictates where your eyes are to go to follow the story. Bad word balloon placement, like bad art storytelling can affect how a panel and, overall, a page is read. Panel 3 is confusing because Mike’s balloon placement. Remember, we read left-to-right, then up-to-down not only as a page but as a panel. So, Mike’s balloon, to read properly, should have broken the panel and into panel 2 just under Val’s balloon so that you know that that was the next balloon to read… then Val’s next balloon, then Mike’s final balloon (just like you have it).
Anyway, enough from the old guy… LOVE YOU, GUYS!!!
It’s NEVER a good sign when your question is avoided like this. I wonder what the complication is going to be.
Be vewwwy, vewwwwy quiet.
We is hunting zombies, without waking up the UBERMENCH!!!!
+1 for great justice
And yet more evidence that “the Light” is likely Mackenzie. The fact that it directly send for Val.

I’m probably WAAAYYYY over thinking this.
