Jeez, Val just can’t keep her mouth shut, can she? You’da thunk they’d have covered ‘not screwing up the space-time continuum using knowledge of the future in the present’ in college. Maybe she was hung over that day?
Or maybe she wasn’t paying attention!?!?!?
Remember, The Dark explicitly informed Val that it’s a case of parallel reality. Val didn’t visit her own future, so she has no more knowledge of how events in her own reality are going to turn out than anyone else does.
But if Jasper and Hazel don’t realize this, the effect is quite similar: as if Val had forced their hands.
