We have been invited by Penguicon to be Featured Guests at this year's convention. Isn't that fancy? April 29-May 1 in Southfield, Michigan. Details in the forum.
Agent Grey now has a strong contender for Best Hair.
Technically, he IS in his secret identity mode (hence the lack of a costume). This also isn’t an assignment requiring heroic assistant. This is just the initial meeting in which they get introduced and acquainted.
That being stated, this man is an inconsiderate jerk to make her wait for over two hours without so much as a phone call to let the office know he would be late. Maybe he had an emergency to attend to before he came there. In such a case, his excuse had better be excellent.
To be completely fair, we have SEEN how this agency operates and treats sidekicks. It’s entirely possible that he DID call and they simply did not feel the need to tell her.
“Look, Rhys. A hero says he’s gonna be somewhere, he’s there. I don’t care how late you are in your secret ID – that’s what secret IDs are for. But what you do as a hero is on MY time, so from now on, you fly straight. Don’t like it? I’ll kick your ass like I kick every other super’s ass.”
Ah, his power is to have the world’s most punchable face. And while all their opponents are instinctively drawn to punching that smug face, Val can casually knock them out from behind.
>>>”And I noticed while trying to find out how long she’d waited that on a working clock, only the first one’s hand positions would be possible. XD”
Not sure why you’d say that, unless the comic’s been fixed since. The second one is 9:25, third one is 10:10. (Yes, I was taught to read time without numbers. Only works if the clock’s handy.)
At 25 minutes past, the hour hand would not be on the nine anymore, but nearly halfway to the ten. And in the third one, the hour hand has not yet reached the ten although it should be a little past it.
That’s why I’m saying this.
Also, I refer again to the quote at the bottom of my first comment. 😉
Correct me if I’m wrong, but if she’s IN Agent Grey’s office, shouldn’t the name on the glass of the office door be backwards?
“I was sitting in my office on that drizzly afternoon, listening to the monotonous stacatto of rain on my desktop and reading my name on the glass of my office door; regnaD kicN.” – “Nick Danger, Third Eye” Firesign Theatre “How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You’re Not Anywhere At All?”
They’re not necessarily inside his office, first panel. More likely they are in the hallway just outside his office, where there is more room for that row of chairs she’s waiting in.
Is Rhys pronounced “Rees” or “Rice”??
“Reese.” Two spellings of the same name, although it is my understanding that Rhys is the original Welsh.
Yea but with that skin ton hes as welsh as beer cheese (if you dont get it google Welsh Rarbert (sp?) )
I already don’t like him. I think it’s the cheekbones. Can’t trust cheekbones like that.
And his abs show through his shirt. Can’t trust anyone with abs that show through the shirt.
Im more disturbed that his shirt matches his eyes. That like, SCREAMS superhero with color trend.
Am I the only one seeing a “Will Not Take A Hint” sign flashing over him?
Well, this is the substitute hero. Can’t wait to learn his hero name…

On the plus side: Last time she had to wait that long for her hero, it turned out to be someone quite decent.
And I noticed while trying to find out how long she’d waited that on a working clock, only the first one’s hand positions would be possible. XD
Yeah, I’m an MT Story Discussions veteran alright. To quote the motto: “We’re putting the anal into analysis.”
Watch, he had to save like a hundred puppies and orphans on the way over and that’s why he’s late. You’re all gonna feel so bad about yourself.
(Nah, I’m just eager to see where this goes. Is he a good hero or a dumb hero? ONLY TIME WILL TELL.)
My guess is he’s excellent at heroing…
..but he needs a personal secretary to remind him to leave the house.

It is agent Gray from the 1st panel.

There’s probably more than one agent at that HQ. That’s likely just the waiting area outside of Grey’s door.
STOP SHOOTING DOWN MY PERFECT NIT-PICK WITH FACTS!!!!
Well, you did ask them to correct you.
He could be late on purpose. Wanting to show his new side kick that things work on his time not her time.
