Kyle enters =========== Gernodt was following Finn with his eyes. While doing so, he saw the doors of the inn open. Curious, he shifted his focus to the doors. Through the doors of the inn walked a young man clothed in local garb. He took in the atmosphere of the inn, then spotting Wes behind the bar. "'Lo, Wes!", he called to the barman, smiled, and walked directly toward him. "'Lo, Kyle," Wes answered in greeting. "All finished unloading?" "Aye, ten cord. Like you asked." Kyle looked around the inn, taking in the customers. Sitting at a table nearby sat a large man, accompanied by a strange fellow, seemingly an elf. They seemed to be looking in his direction... Kyle never knew what to expect at the Cloven Shield, but it was always interesting or funny. Of course, one had to know WHEN to laugh, or suffer the consequences. Seeing the frustration on Karl's face, though he tried to suppress it, gave him cause not to laugh at a man whose livelihood (and food !) came and went at the whim of others. "Here you go." Wes broke into Kyle's thoughts, as he handed him a bag of coins. "Give these to your father and tell him 'Thanks' for me. Next time, I will keep better track of my stores, so you won't have to rush the order. It's just been so busy lately." Kyle accepted the bag and tucked it within his garments. "Now get on home! This is becoming a far too dangerous place for a young lad. Your mother would have my hide!" Kyle's eyes lit up. "So it's true," he said in a hushed voice. "There *were* five murders here last night!" "Three," retorted Wes angrily. "Now be gone before you become the first one tonight!" Wes held up a serving fork and waved it menacingly at Kyle. Kyle burst out laughing, "Okay, okay. I'm going." Lost in her thoughts for a minute, Finn was caught unprepared when a boy at the bar counter suddenly turned and bumped into her. Her face registering the surprise, she took a step away from him in reflex. The boy, however, continued to stare at her, as if in shock. Kyle was immediately struck by her unearthly beauty. He had never seen such a woman before! Neither Elf, nor human, really. Dark hair, penetrating eyes---he could get lost in those eyes. His voice caught in his throat, and he froze in mid-turn.
