Kyle glanced nervously at the chair, but was not about to let this opportunity pass up. He sat on the chair, torn between his his desire to sit close to her, and his nervousness at being right beside her. "Firstly, Kyle, I would like to thank you for the compliment on my appearance. It was nice of you to say that. I cannot answer your questions completely, but I will tell you some. My name is Finn Ambrose, and I am from a place... very far from here." As she spoke, her eyes softened with remembrance of the world she left behind. Her home seemed very far away. Forcing herself from nostalgia, she continued. "As for my 'beauty', it is one of the few benefits of a rather unique curse I have that I would just as soon be rid of. It is in part the reason I am discussing joining these two on their quest. I'm afraid that is all I can tell you. Does that answer your questions?" Kyle's gaze never left her as she spoke, his mind awash with emotions. "A curse?", he asked incredulously, "Most would not complain of a curse that made them look like you. Still, I would guess you would still be beautiful without a curse." Finn smiled brightly at Kyle. She didn't completely understand why, but his admiration of her made her feel better than she had in a long time. She lay her hand on top of his. "Thank you, Kyle.", she said softly, and she glanced at her companions to see their reactions. Strangely, the thoughtful expression she expected on Dahlarin, was found on Gernodt's face, while Dahlarin remained expressionless, his hazel eyes gazing levelly at her. Kyle was glowing with the attention. Not only had she said his name twice now, her cool hand now rested on top of his! He couldn't imagine being happier. Finn. He said the name in his mind. It was not a name he had heard before, yet he liked the sound of it nonetheless. He was sure the name would echo in his mind for days. As Finn glanced at her companions, he realized that she would expect him to leave now that she had answered his questions. Frantically, his mind searched for an excuse to stay with her a little while longer. "Did you say you were trying to break this curse?", he asked suddenly. Finn's attention immediately returned to him, and his thoughts momentarily fled at the return of her gaze. "Um. I mean, I would like to help.. if I could. If I wouldn't be in your way or anything." Kyle grimly realized he was losing control again, and inwardly cursed his shyness. Why did she make him feel like this? Finn removed her hand from his, much to Kyle's disappointment. Her smile faded. "We would love to have you join us Kyle, but it is just too dangerous." Kyle's heart sank briefly. It was a spontaneous decision, but he was surprise how much he had already set his hopes on it. In his mind, he saw a damsel in distress, and he wanted so desperately to be the shining knight who would help her. "Tell you what, though", she continued, seeing his disappointment, "I could do a reading for you to see what your future holds. Perhaps you have other adventures on the horizon." ************************************************************************ Next Time : Finn reads Kyle's Destiny... ************************************************************************
