She seemed to be holding back a smile, so he moved over to her. "Kind of nice to make someone his size nervous, isn't it?", he commented quietly so Kyle couldn't hear. Finn gave him an odd look and remained silent. Dahlarin looked over his shoulder to see Kyle and Gernodt leaving the clearing, carrying away their only light source. He sat down with his back to a tree. Looking back to Finn, he was startled by ghostly image her pale face gave in the dim light of the night. He shuddered slightly as she looked directly at him and smiled slightly. "Looks like we've got some plans to make.", she stated. Finn noted with slight amusement the emotions clear on Dahlarin's face as he looked at her. A strange mixture of awe, curiosity, and a little fear. Still, it was far better than the look of utter horror most people would display if they found out what she was. Briefly she wondered if Dahlarin's magic was strong enough to defeat one of her kind. She decided she wouldn't want to find out, and turned her attention back to the matter at hand. Dahlarin dug briefly in the pockets of his travelling cloak and produced a small feather and a stone. He glanced over at her and muttered a strange incantation. Both the feather and the stone disintegrated as he stopped, and Dahlarin looked back toward Finn. She gave a little gasp as she looked at his eyes, which now glowed with a slight luminescence. "What did you do?!", she asked curiously. Dahlarin shrugged. "It's just a spell to give me night vision. I would imagine its similar to your own sight. Looks kind of spooky though, doesn't it." He smiled and peered around him. After a moment, he nodded approval and returned his attention to Finn. "Much better. Shall we follow them a short ways?", he asked. Finn looked around her. "You could make the illusion here. It's as good a place as any." Dahlarin frowned, "More space would be better. I need room to see every aspect of the illusion, otherwise it will start to fall apart." He examined their surroundings closely. Finn watched impassively as Dahlarin got up and wandered around the clearing, looking for a suitable spot to cast from. "I must leave for a while.", she stated and began walking out of the clearing. Dahlarin looked up from his musing in surprise. "Are you sure you... oh. Never mind. Hurry back though." Dahlarin watched her leave and shuddered. Just moments ago he had been standing beside a hungry vampire. He reached into a pocket and ran his fingers along a vial of holy water, then began examining the clearing again. He soon spotted a tree that would be adequate and walked over to begin scaling it. As he reached it, he heard a snapping twig behind him. Quickly, he whirled around and crouched down, peering into the dark forest with his night vision. As he watched, a large muscular figure emerged from the trees, pointing a crossbow at him.
