                                The Feeding
                                ===========

Finn glided through the dark forest, silent as a shadow, her keen senses
alert.  Although she could detect living creatures all around her, none
were large enough to slake her thirst.  She circled the area for several
long minutes, but found nothing larger than a rabbit.  She turned her
nose up in disgust for taking so long to find appropriate prey.  Dahlarin
was sure to be waiting for her already, she thought rather annoyed.
Although a rabbit would certainly do for food, the thought of it did not
appeal to her.  Suddenly, her sensitive hearing picked up the sound of
something large moving through the trees in the distance.  She crouched
down slightly, the ultimate in predators, and swiftly moved towards it.
In moments her prey was in sight, a lone orc fighting and cursing his way
through a low patch of thorn bushes.  Finn picked up the scent of blood
from him and her higher reasoning shut down in a frenzy of bloodlust.
The orc didn't hear her until she was upon him.  As he saw her, his eyes
went wide and he attempted to scream, but it was too late.  In moments,
his eyes glazed over as Finn drew his blood out, dropping the corpse to
the ground when she was finished.  The beast within sated, she looked
around again to get her bearings.
